Lot Tracking

Lot tracking is a setting on a parent item that enables batch-level traceability. In Peasy, when lot tracking is turned on for an item, every inventory movement must specify a lot number.

How It Works in Peasy

  • Lot tracking is configured at the entity level
  • With lot tracking on, receiving requires a lot number
  • Inventory adjustments and transfers also require lot selection
  • FIFO costing uses lot-level cost data for accurate cost of goods sold
  • You can view all lots for an item and their quantities per location

Why It Matters

Lot tracking gives you full traceability from receiving through sales. It's required for businesses in regulated industries (food, supplements, cosmetics) and strongly recommended for any goods where batch-level traceability matters.
