Batch
A batch is a single production run of a recipe that produces a defined quantity of finished goods. In Peasy, batches are tracked through work orders and can be assigned lot numbers for traceability.
How It Works in Peasy
- Each work order represents one or more batches of production
- The batch size is determined by the template's yield
- When completing a work order, the finished product can be assigned a lot number
- Batch-level cost is calculated from the ingredient costs consumed during production
- Multiple batches can be produced in a single work order by specifying a multiplier
Why It Matters
Batches connect production to traceability. When a quality issue is found with a finished product, the batch (and its lot number) lets you trace back to the exact ingredients used and the exact work order that produced it.
