Set Your Count Badge Threshold

Inventory numbers drift over time — items get used, miscounted, or moved without being logged. The count badge threshold tells Peasy how many days can pass before an item should be recounted. Items that haven't been counted within that window get flagged so you know what needs attention.

How to Get There

Go to Inventory > Count in the sidebar, then click the View button (gear icon) in the top-right header area.

Step by Step

  1. Go to Inventory > Count.
  2. Click the View button (gear icon) in the header. A popover opens.
  3. Scroll down past the sort options to find Count badge threshold.
  4. Enter the number of days — for example, 7 means any item not counted in the last 7 days gets flagged.
  5. Click the Save button inside the popover.

To turn off badge flagging entirely, clear the field and save. The placeholder text says "Leave empty to turn off."

How to Choose the Right Number

It depends on how often you want to verify your stock:

ThresholdGood for
1 dayHigh-value or fast-moving items you want to count daily
3 daysItems you check a few times a week
7 daysWeekly counts — a good default for most businesses
14 daysSlow-moving items or large inventories where weekly isn't practical
30 daysLow-priority items you only audit monthly

Start with 7 days if you're not sure. You can always adjust it later.

What This Does

Once set, items that haven't been counted within the threshold are flagged in two ways on the Count page:

  • A red "Count" badge appears next to the item name on each card
  • The left-edge color bar on the card turns red (green means counted today, grey means neutral)

The sidebar badge on the Count nav item also shows how many items need counting, so you can tell at a glance without opening the page. The Count tab in the Flags panel (flag icon in the sidebar) also lists items due for a count.

While You're in the View Popover

The same popover also has sort options — useful for organizing your count workflow:

  • Sort by: Last count date, Item name, Category, or Area
  • Sort direction: Ascending or descending (toggle with the arrow button)

Sorting by "Last count date" with ascending direction puts the most overdue items at the top — a good way to prioritize your counts.

Good to Know

  • This is an account-wide setting — it applies to everyone on your Peasy account, not just you.
  • It doesn't force anyone to count. It's a visual reminder to help prioritize inventory work.
  • Items counted today show a green left-edge bar and no badge, so you always know what's fresh.
  • You can change this anytime as your counting rhythm evolves.
